Ntekpere Earns GNAC Field Athlete of the Week Honors

PORTLAND, Ore.- Emy Ntekpere of the Central Washington University track & field team earned GNAC honors this week following an outstanding performance at the UW Preview, where she set new school and conference records in the high jump and captured a victory in the triple jump.

QUOTING HEAD COACH JONATHAN HILL
"Emy opened in the high jump and it went well. She was clean through 1.76 (meters) which was great, then went third attempt at 1.79. It was awesome to see her overcome some stress and put together one of the best technical jumps of her career. She won a Big 10 meet in the triple jump and competed really well in the long jump placing fourth. Emy had a really solid day which we hope to replicate a couple more times."

ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
Ntekpere opened the 2026 season in impressive fashion at the UW Preview, delivering standout performances in multiple events. She placed second in the high jump with a clearance of 1.79 meters (5'10½"), setting new CWU and GNAC records. The mark is tied for the top spot in NCAA Division II.
