ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The Wildcats had a week off following their trip to Western Washington University to participate in the Bill Roe Classic. With the team rested up and eager for action, the team will travel out of state to Romeoville, Ill., for the Lewis Crossover. The event will take place on Saturday at 7:45 a.m. as the 'Cats look to impress out of state.
LAST MEET:
The women's squad had three runners place in the top seven out of 85 runners.
Maddy Harrison led the way finishing third with her impressive time of 21:14.9.
Dawn Hulstedt was next for the 'Cats at sixth place followed by
Payton Conover in seventh with her time of 21:56.6. There were still plenty more great performances left in the race as
Hannah Pidduck rounded out the top 15 with a time of 22:22.9.
Lillian Neff found herself finishing 22
nd after a time of 22:54.6 and
Katie Manly was a little behind her closing out the top 30 with her 23:16.2. The result for team scores had the Wildcats finishing in second place with 53 points as they fell just short to their rival with 44 points in Western Washington.
With 150 runners in the Men's 8k, the top Wildcat was once again
Weston Breen with a strong run of 25.52.1 putting him in 30
th place.
Charlie Naught also had himself a good showing with a 44th place finish running his time of 26:19.7. Christian Rosca and
Sylas Allen finished only nine seconds apart as Rosca crossed the line 57
th with a time of 26:39.0 and Allen in 60
th running a 26:48.8, respectively. The results by the 'Cats put them in eighth place in team scores with a total of 198 points, finishing behind Alaska Fairbanks with their score of 182.
NEXT UP:
The Wildcats will once again have another week off next week as they prepare for the Tyson Invitational. The event is hosted by Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash., and will be on Friday, Oct. 23 at 3 p.m. The 'Cats will be looking to bring any momentum they find in Illinois to the following meet.
