ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Thirteen members of the Central Washington University Cross Country Teams earned Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Academic honors, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon. Western Washington paved the way with 29 GNAC All-Academic honorees.
The Wildcat Women's Cross Country Team had nine selections:
Payton Conover,
Heidi Gill,
Maddy Harrison,
Dawn Hulstedt,
Paige Huntsinger,
Julie Johnson,
Katie Manly,
Lillian Neff,
Hannah Pidduck and
Lexi Titchenal.
Six of the eleven runners are earning their first GNAC All-Academic honor, with Conover, Gill, Johnson and Pidduck earning their second straight All-Academic honor. Then, for the third straight year, Barta was once again recognized with All-Academic honors, as she is currently earning a 3.93 GPA in Biology. Conover is an Elementary Education major and has a 4.0 GPA, and she wasn't alone in that accomplishment. Titchenal is a Law and Justice major and earned herself a 4.0 GPA as well. Gill has a 3.73 GPA, along with Huntsinger's 3.74 and Manly's 3.56, all three with Clinical Physiology majors. Pidduck earned a 3.65 GPA in her Elementary Education major alongside Neff's 3.51 GPA in Environmental Science. Johnson earned a 3.96 GPA with her Chemistry major, as Hulstedt earned a 3.65 in Biology. Finally, Harrison rounded it out, owning a 3.35 GPA in Business Administration.
The Wildcat Men's Cross Country Team had two selections led by
Charlie Naught, who earned his second GNAC All-Academic honor with a 3.97 in Biology. Earning his first All-Academic honor is
Weston Breen, owning a 3.31 GPA in Construction Management.
To qualify for GNAC All-Academic honors, nominees must be of sophomore eligibility or greater, as well as in their second season playing for the institution. They must also have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or greater and must be on the roster for the full season.
