Saturday Baseball Games Moved to Volcanoes Stadium

Central's Doubleheader at Western Oregon Relocated to Minor League Park

The CWU baseball team will play its Saturday doubleheader at Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer, Ore.
ELLENSBURG (Apr. 30) -- The first two games of this weekend's scheduled four-game baseball series between Central Washington University and Western Oregon University will be played at Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer, Ore.

The Wildcats and Wolves will play their Saturday doubleheader at the 4,500-seat Volcanoes Stadium just off Interstate 5, which has been home to the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes of the Class A Northwest League since 1997. Saturday's doubleheader will still begin at 1 p.m.

Admission will be charged for the games at Volcanoes Stadium at a cost of $5 for adults and $4 for students.

Sunday's doubleheader is scheduled to be played on the Western Oregon University campus in Monmouth, Ore., as originally scheduled. That twinbill is set for a noon start.

The games at Volcanoes Stadium will mark the second Minor League Baseball facility in which the Wildcats will have played this season. Central previously played a four-game series at Montana State Billings, which uses Dehler Park -- the home of the Pioneer League's Billings Mustangs -- as its home stadium.

Central Washington enters this weekend's series with an 11-31 overall record and a 5-19 record in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play. Western Oregon, ranked sixth in the NCAA Division II West Region, is 27-14 overall and 21-3 in the GNAC.
