ELLENSBURG, Wash. (Mar. 15) – After taking three of four from Northwest Nazarene University in its Great Northwest Athletic Conference opening series, the Central Washington University softball team aims to kickoff Spring Break by snagging wins on the road against Simon Fraser University and Western Washington.

Kailyn Campbell and
Taylor Ferleman laid waste to opposing pitchers, combining for a 16-for-29 mark at the plate, with eight runs batted in, nine runs scored, six doubles, and one homerun.
As a unit, the Wildcats held a slash line of .388/.459/.603 in their opening conference weekend.
Jacie McDaniels added three round trippers and five runs batted in.
Kiana Wood led Central Washington in the circle, compiling a 1.87 earned run average in three appearances. The southpaw tossed 15 innings, allowed 15 hits, four earned runs, and struck out seven hitters. She hurled two complete games for a record of 2-1.
The Wildcats play visitor to Simon Fraser University in a GNAC doubleheader on Sunday (Mar. 19), before heading to Bellingham to take on the Vikings.
The 5-7 Simon Fraser University Clan are 1-1 in conference after splitting a pair of games against Concordia.
Taylor Lundrigan leads the Clan's offense with a .500 batting average, two homeruns, and 11 driven in.
Simon Fraser is hitting .296 as a team with just two homeruns and 48 runs driven in. The Clan don't strike out often, averaging just over two strikeouts per game and walking twice a contest.
Tori Belton and Alia Stachoski have handled the majority of the pitching duties for the Clan. Belton is 2-4, in eight appearances, with an ERA of 3.76, 23 strikeouts, 17 walks, 37 hits allowed, and an opposing batting average of .262. Stachoski is 3-1 on the season, with an ERA of 5.37. Opposing hitters are at a clip of .319 against Stachoski. She has walked 23 and struck out just 18.
