ELLENSBURG, Wash.— The Central Washington volleyball team is set to host the Seattle Pacific Falcons and Montana State Billings Yellowjackets to close out their 2021 regular season. On Saturday, Central will honor the seniors from the 'Cats roster prior to the start of the match.

PREVIOUSLY THIS SEASON
The 'Cats will open the weeks matches with Seattle Pacific. Previously this season the Falcons managed to cage the 'Cats and hand them a 3-1 loss. In said match, the 'Cats managed only a .156 hitting percentage, and were challenged at the net by the Falcons with 16 blocks.
Seattle Pacific currently sits fourth in the GNAC with a 10-6 conference record and are 14-9 overall. The Falcons will play fresh off of a loss at home to then No. 16 Western Washington. As a team the Falcons offense manages 13.1 kills, 12.4 assists and 1.7 service aces per set. On the defensive side, the Falcons put up 2.6 blocks alongside 13.7 digs per set. The Falcons sit second in the GNAC in blocks, making them a tough challenge at the net.
The 'Cats opened up their 2021 regular season schedule down in Billings, Montana, against the Yellowjackets. In their first match the 'Cats walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Yellowjackets. Set scores don't tell the whole story, as the 'Cats only managed a .164 hitting percentage alongside a collection of errors.
The Yellowjackets are currently 11-15 overall and 6-10 in the GNAC. They will take on the Nighthawks at Northwest Nazarene prior to making their trip the Ellensburg. As a team the Yellowjacket offense averages 11.5 kills alongside 10.5 assists and 1.4 service aces per set. As a defense the Yellowjackets put up 15.7 digs with 2.0 blocks per set.
WILDCAT LEADERS
It's the right hander from Idaho who has led the 'Cats in scoring all year.
Ashley Kaufman is a powerful arm averaging 3.05 kills per set alongside 21 service aces and 190 digs, making her a versatile weapon anywhere on the court. Guiding the 'Cats offense is sophomore duo
Tia Andaya and
Sydney Remsberg. Andaya, who recently set the GNAC single season Triple-Double record, has a 2.24 kills per set average alongside 421 assists, 185 digs and 47 blocks. Remsberg, who trails Andaya with only 418 assists, has 153 digs and a team-leading 33 service aces.
Behind the strong offense sits defensive threats
Hannah Stires and
Leanna Shymanski. Stires, the 'Cats libero has 376 total digs on the season with 21 service aces from behind the line. Shymanski, the long-time middle blocker for the 'Cats has 87 total blocks this season alongside 139 kills at the net.
