SCOUTING THE SAINTS
The Saint's are 7-29 overall this season and 3-25 in the GNAC conference. The Wildcats and Saints met for a non-conference series to start the year resulting in a 2-2 series tie. In their second meeting of the season, the Wildcats took home the series 3-1.
The Saint's offense is led by freshman Mark Steward. Steward is hitting .397 on the season with six doubles and two home runs holding a .551 slugging percentage and 1.017 OPS. As a team the Saints are only hitting .236 with an OPS of .667. Just behind Steward is Sophomore Aaron Renaud. Renaud posts a .315 average with eight doubles, two triples and six home runs. As a team the Saints are batting a .263 AVG.
On defense the Saint's relay on the arm from Tanner Inouye. The senior holds a 5.63 ERA with 63 strikeouts all through 46 and a third innings. Inouye is followed by freshman Cole Hatton who holds a 7.51 ERA. Hatton holds only 22 strikeouts while giving up 52 hits through 38 and a third innings. As a team the Saint's hold a 9.22 ERA.
STRONG PITCHING, STRONGER BATS
The Crimson and Black are fresh off of a 2-2 series tie against Montana State University Billings that secured their spot in the GNAC conference tournament. The 'Cats swept the 'Jackets in day two and look to carry that momentum into this series.
The 'Cats are led by Senior
Dillon Larsen who holds a 5.97 ERA alongside 59 strikeouts through 34 and two-thirds innings. Larsen has been the day one starter all season and will look to close it out strong before the GNAC conference tournament. Behind Larsen is the duo of
Reid Rasmussen and GNAC leader
Dylan Weese. Rasmussen holds a 3.90 ERA with 23 strikeouts through 27 and two thirds innings. Weese posts a 2.96 ERA with 21 strikeouts through 27 and a third innings.
The Wildcat offense is on the shoulders of GNAC leading hitters
Justin Hampson and
Zach Berryman. Hampson leads the GNAC with a .465 AVG, .542 OB% and .746 Slugging. Hampson also has nine doubles, four triples and a single home run. The Senior has only been struck out seven times all season. Sophomore
Zach Berryman is second in the GNAC with a .435 AVG, .555 OB% and a .541 Slugging.
