MONMOUTH, Ore.— The Central Washington Track & Field team won a few events and had plenty who qualified for the finales tomorrow at the GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

"Overall, I'm pretty please and content. We had a couple of champions on the day which is super excited. There was a bunch of great qualifiers overall. We have a lot of people moving on to tomorrow and that sets us up for great position to earn a lot of team points. Tomorrows Hammer will be huge as we have the leaders in both the Men and Women."
MEN & WOMEN'S TEAM SCORES SIT IN 2nd HEADING INTO DAY TWO
Braydon Maier took home the Men's Pole Vault with a height of 4.73m. He also took 2
nd in the Men's Long Jump with a distance of 6.98m.
Martin Napeahi took 2
nd in the Men's Discus with a throw of 45.45m,
Omar Young brought home 3
rd with a mark of 45.37m.
Avery Fisk won the Women's Discus throw with a mark of 43.24m, 1.81m further then the next best throw. Fisk also took 2
nd in the shot put with a mark of 12.54m.
Caitlin Gohr took 4
th in the Women's 3000 Meter Steeplechase with a time of 11:17.10. "

In the Women's 100-Meter Hurdles preliminary round
McCall DeChenne took home 3
rd with a time of 14.44.
Lauryn Chandler took home 4
th with a time of 14.49.
Doc Porter qualified 2
nd in the Men's 400-Meter Dash with a time of 49.79.
Braydon Maier and
Gunner Vallatini both ran qualifying marks in the Men's 110-Meter Hurdles. Maier ran a final time of 15.14 and
Gunner Vallatini at 15.52.
Dani Taylor and
Jasmyne Neria were able to sprint to qualifying marks in the Women's 400-Meter dash. Taylor finished with a time of 59.88, and Neria with a time of 1:00.38.
Zachary Davis had the top qualifying mark in the Men's 100-Meter Dash with a time of 10.73. Harry Horwath was also able to score a qualifying time at 11.02.
In the Women's 100-Meter Dash preliminaries
E'lexis Hollis was able to snag a qualifying time at 12.29 to be able to race in the finale tomorrow.
Spencer Solvberg will compete in the Men's 800-Meter Run finale tomorrow after qualifying with a time of 1:57.49.
Gunner Vallatini earned a qualifying mark for tomorrows Men's 400-Meter Hurdles with a time of 56.67.
The Wildcats lit up the qualifier for the Womens 400-Meter Hurdles with three qualifying athletes.
McCall DeChenne took first with a time of 1:02.93,
Hailey Holsey had a time of 1:04.99 and
Rachel Krill with 1:05.46.
In the Men's 200-Meter Dash the Wildcats had two qualifying marks.
Harrison Horwath finished with a time of 22.21 and
Zachary Davis with a time of 22.42.
The Wildcats had two more qualifiers in the Women's 200-Meter Dash.
Makenna Hansen finished with a time of 25.44 and
Yareli Ochoa with a time of 25.99.
The Wildcats will compete in the remaining events and finales tomorrow starting at 12:00 PM.
