PORTLAND, Ore. – Central Washington University Track & Field senior
Elise Hopper garnered her second GNAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week honor during the outdoor season after having an impressive senior day showing in front of a home crowd at the CWU Wildcat Invitational this past Saturday.

Jonathan Hill said. "She's demonstrating the form it takes years to build, and she's taking full advantage. Her fitness combined with her race understanding and execution are at all-time highs. She's ready to do whatever she wants these next few weeks as the weather gets better and the meets get bigger."
Hopper had another stellar outing this past Saturday as she shined in front of a home crowd. She helped the 'Cats sweep the 400m hurdle titles on the meet, taking home the gold with a time of 59.87 which accounts as a new personal best for her and is the 12th-best time in NCAA Division II this outdoor season. She also added a second-place finish in the 100m race with a time of 11.71 which is the 16th-best time in NCAA Division II this outdoor season.
She also took part in two relay teams that took gold. She participated in the women's 4x100m relay team alongside
Donna Marie Harris,
Zoe Gonzales, and
Layla Fields who finished with a time of 46.02 which is the 13th-best time in NCAA Division II this outdoor season. She then teamed up with
Julie Castillejo,
Carley Huber, and Harris in the 4x400m relay which finished with a time of 3:50.89.
Hopper and the 'Cats will turn their attention to a trip to California this week to participate in the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. In Hilmer Lodge Stadium from Wednesday, April 15 through Saturday, April 18.
