Boddie Named GNAC Player of the Week

ELLENSBURG, Wash.—Central Washington running back Rashaad Boddie has been named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Boddie, a junior, earns this week's honors after rushing for 279 yards and three touchdowns in CWU's 36-14 win against Simon Fraser in the conference opener for both teams.

Boddie scored on touchdown runs of 4, 28 and 87 yards, the latter coming late in the fourth quarter to put the game away. Boddie rushed for 186 yards in the second half, as the Wildcats kept the ball on the ground. It's the most yards gained on the ground by a Wildcat since at least 2010.

A natice of Clayton, N.C., Boddie was within range of eclipsing the CWU single-game rushing record of 322 yards, set by Nat Conley against Humboldt State on Oct. 27, 2001.

Boddie's 279 yards on Saturday is the second-best single-game figure in Division II this year, behind the 305 yards gained by Derek Lynch of Findlay (Ohio) against UNC Pembroke on Sept. 11.

The Wildcats (2-1) host Angelo State (2-1), 6 p.m., Saturday at Tomlinson Stadium.
