Wildcats Welcome NAIA Powerhouse LC State

ELLENSBURG, Wash.— Central Washington baseball is set to host Lewis-Clark State College in a two-game non-conference doubleheader in Ellensburg, Washington, Thursday afternoon.  
 
First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m., game two will follow roughly a half an hour after game one ends.
 
SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
LC State was ranked No. 3 in the most recent National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Top 25 coaches' poll. The Warriors boast a 27-1 overall record, and have yet to open conference play. The lone blemish on their record came at the hands of Arizona Christian 10-9 back on Feb. 3rd.
 
The Warriors swept the Wildcats in a four-game series down in Lewiston earlier this season. The Wildcats fell by way of 10-2, 15-5, 5-0, and 9-4.
 
Sam Linscott leads the LCSC offense with a .454 batting average and a team-leading 49 hits and 43 runs batted in. Linscott is also a perfect 18 for 18 on stolen bases this season.
 
As a unit the Warriors are hitting .333 at the plate with a .431 combined on-base percentage.
 
Trent Sellers leads LC State on the mound. Sellers, a junior right-handed pitcher, owns a 6-0 record and 1.16 earned run average this season through 38.2 innings of work. Sellers has tallied a team-leading 50 strikeouts and has allowed just 22 hits.
 
LAST TIME OUT FOR CENTRAL
The Wildcats return home after dropping a four-game series 3-1 at Western Oregon. The trio of losses drops Central to 8-15 overall and 2-6 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play.
 
Zach Berryman led Central at the plate against WOU, going 7-16 over the weekend with one double, two runs, and one run batted in.
 
In CWU's lone win of the series, Brayde Hirai grabbed his first win of the season. Hirari allowed just three hits and no earned runs through his 2.2 innings pitched.
 
The Wildcats boast the strongest offense in the GNAC, leading in team batting average (.295), on-base percentage (.378), runs scored (139), and hits (231).
