PORTLAND, Ore. - Two standout Wildcat student athletes earned GNAC Baseball players of the week honors this week.
Ryan McCarthy earned GNAC Baseball Player of the Week and
Jonathan Garza II earned GNAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Wildcat baseball outfielder
Ryan McCarthy had 14 at-bats over the weekend connecting on 7 hits and batting in seven RBI. He finished the weekend with two doubles and drew one walk. Had three hits in game one against St. Martin's and batted in five RBI in game two. He finished with an RBI in three out of the four games over the weekend.
Pitcher
Jonathan Garza II pitched a no-hitter against St. Martin's in game two of the series helping the 'Cats to a 11-0 victory. He finished the game pitching seven innings allowing no hits, no runs, four walks, and threw six strikeouts. He threw the Wildcats first no-hitter since February 7, 2015 against St. Martin's.
