Weber Named LSC Special Teams Player of the Week for the Second-Straight Week

RICHARDSON, Texas – Central Washington University junior kicker David Weber was tabbed as the Lone Star Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for the second-straight week, the conference announced Monday morning. Weber joins Cedonyae Lott of Midwestern State as the only player this season to earn the honor multiple times with both earning it in back-to-back weeks. This is the third-straight week that a CWU player has earned the award with Samaje Featherstone earning it the week before Weber's back-to-back honors.

"We are extremely proud of David and the historic season he's putting together and the volume of points that he's accumulating," CWU Head Football Coach Chris Fisk said.

Weber was once again kept busy in the 'Cats 73-7 victory at Sul Ross State. He finished the game a perfect 10/10 on PAT attempts and tacked on a 29-yard field goal that helped add insurance in the third quarter.

The native of Sevelen, Switzerland joined the 'Cats this season and has been nothing short of impressive. He started the season making his first eight field goal attempts, including a 3/3 performance against Eastern New Mexico that included his longest successful field goal this season of 49 yards. He has successfully kicked 10/12 field goal attempts on the year. He's currently 63/64 on PAT attempts this season with his only miss coming in the season-opening Rodeo Bowl against Colorado Mesa but has currently made 60-straight PAT attempts since.

Weber and the 'Cats (9-1, 8-0 LSC) will wrap up the regular season with a clash for both the Pacific Northwest as well as the Lone Star Conference title with a trip to Monmouth, Oregon to face the Western Oregon Wolves (8-2, 7-1 LSC) on Saturday, November 15 at 1:05 p.m. from McArthur Field.
