THE WILDCATS
CWU has seen a tough turnaround to its season after starting 5-1 as the Wildcats have lost the last five games to the College of Idaho and Cal State San Bernardino. The 'Cats were scheduled to host the Western Oregon Wolves in a non-conference matchup on Saturday, Feb 22. However, the doubleheader was canceled due to the inclement weather in the Ellensburg area. Central enters the opening week of conference play in the middle ground of the GNAC at third place.
The Wildcats have a strong batting lineup behind the hitting power of
Brandham Ponce, who's recorded seven home runs this season, and
Baba Varner Jr., whose 15 hits lead the team. The pitching for Central saw a tough run against CSUSB but can still see strong perspectives through
Jonathan Garza II. Garza II, who has pitched 15 innings for the Wildcats has seen 63 batters this season and has allowed 20 hits and 11 runs. He has also struck out 16 batters and currently has a 1.93 WHIP
SCOUTING SAINT MARTIN'S

The Saints do have some strong aspects in their batting lineup led by Hunter Sasaki with 19 hits and seven runs. Followed by Kyle Schabot with 16 hits and six runs. Saint Martin's pitching does have a strong lead with Nikki Scott II, who has a 5.73 ERA and has struck out six of the 45 batters he's faced. Scott II has pitched 11 innings and currently has a 1.55 WHIP.
The Wildcats take on the Saints on Friday, Feb 28 with first pitch scheduled for noon from Saints Field.
