ELLENSBURG, Wash. — Central Washington University outfielder Max Bledy has been named to the 2026 NCBWA NCAA Division II Preseason West Region Team, a recognition that puts one of the Wildcats' most consistent bats firmly in the regional spotlight heading into the new season.
 
A senior from Wilsonville, Oregon, Bledy earned the preseason nod after putting together a strong 2025 campaign in the CWU lineup. Appearing in 38 games, Bledy logged a .333 batting average, collecting 41 hits in 123 at-bats. His offensive production went well beyond average, as Bledy posted a .455 slugging percentage, .411 on-base percentage, and an .865 OPS, making him a steady presence at the top and middle of the order.
 
Bledy's 2025 stat line also featured six doubles, three home runs, and 18 RBIs, while he crossed the plate 23 times. He showed discipline and toughness at the plate, drawing seven walks and being hit by pitch nine times, and added value on the basepaths with three stolen bases. Defensively, Bledy was just as reliable, finishing the season with a .952 fielding percentage in the outfield.
 
Bledy and the Wildcats open the season on the road with a nonconference series against Stanislaus State in Turlock, Calif., beginning Jan. 31.
