Henkel Named GNAC Player of the Week After Stellar Performance at Billings

PORTLAND, Ore. – Central Washington's Conrad Henkel was named the GNAC Baseball Player of the Week after a dominant four‑game stretch at Montana State Billings, where he reached base at a .500 average and drove the Wildcats' offense throughout the series.

Henkel went 7-14 at the plate, going yard three times, recording seven runs and seven RBIs, adding three walks and a hit‑by‑pitch to finish the weekend with a .500 on‑base percentage. He also stole a base.

He opened the series with a 1-4 performance, scoring twice and drawing a walk in a CWU win. He followed with a standout effort in Game 2, going 2-4 with two huge home runs, three RBIs, and a pair of walks as the Wildcats rolled to another victory.

Henkel stayed hot in the lone loss of the weekend, finishing 1-2 with a two-run dinger, and another walk. He closed the series by going 3-4 with two runs scored in a bounce‑back win that sealed a 3-1 weekend for Central.

Across the four games, Henkel totaled three home runs, seven hits, seven runs, seven RBIs and three walks, helping fuel a Wildcats lineup that surged through the series and earning him conference honors for the first time this season.

Henkel and the 'Cats return home this week to host Western Oregon (13-20, 6-10 GNAC) in a four-game series starting on Friday, April 10. First pitch from the CWU Baseball Field is scheduled for noon.
