ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The seventh season of Wildcat Football under the tutelage of Head Coach
Chris Fisk is officially underway. 111 Wildcats reported for camp to officially begin the 2025 campaign.
Among the 111 players practicing were 30 first-year Wildcats and 48 total freshmen including those who redshirt in the 2024 season. CWU welcomes 13 new transfers to its roster for the 2025 season seeing multiple junior college standouts as well as names from Washington and Washington State among others join the crimson and black.
"We are very excited for the opportunity to build up the 2025 Wildcats through fall camp," CWU Head Football Coach
Chris Fisk said. "We got off to a good start last week and are looking forward to seeing this practice pay off when we open our season at home in Tomlinson Stadium for the Rodeo Bowl."
The Pacific Northwest and specifically the state of Washington is heavily represented on the 2025 CWU Football roster with 96 athletes hailing from the PNW and 82 hailing from within the state lines of Washington. The Wildcat coaches have also been proactive in the central Washington area with 13 student-athletes hailing from the central Washington region.

The Wildcats will look to build off their 21st ranking in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) preseason poll, presented by Hudl, released Monday. The Wildcats attained 176 points and were joined by Angelo State (13th; 352 points), UT Permian Basin (RV; 16 points), and Texas A&M-Kingsville (RV; 5 points) as the representatives from the Lone Star Conference. CWU's home-opening opponent Colorado Mesa also received one vote in the poll.
The Wildcats have turned their attention to their home-opening Rodeo Bowl matchup against Colorado Mesa on Thursday, August 28 at 1:00 p.m. from inside Steve Hertling Field at Tomlinson Stadium.
