SPOKANE, Wash. – The Central Washington University track and field team had a great outing at the Podium, securing nine gold medals, six silver medals and five bronze medals. The Wildcats walk away from the GNAC Championships with 20 medals and several new school records.

ABOUT THE MEET
- Johan Correa made history as the first-ever competitor from CWU to win the men's 800 meters, setting both a new school and personal record with a time of 1:48.83.
- E'lexis Hollis claimed her third victory in the GNAC Championships women's 60 meters, winning with a blazing time of 7.32. She also earned a bronze medal in the women's 200 meters with a time of 24.12.
- Drew Klein successfully defended his title in the men's pole vault, taking first place with a vault of 4.65 meters.
- Freshman Cal'von Baker made history as the fifth Wildcat to win the men's high jump, capturing gold with a jump of 2.02 meters.
- Isaiah Webster was named Men's Field Athlete of the Meet after securing gold in both the men's long jump with a distance of 7.28 meters and the triple jump with 15.25 meters. His performance set a new GNAC Championships record in the triple jump.
- Emy Ntekpere earned Women's Field Athlete of the Meet honors and was also the Women's High Point Scorer, winning gold in the long jump with a distance of 5.87 meters and the triple jump with 12.30 meters. She also claimed third in the high jump with a mark of 1.70 meters.
- Lauryn McGough was recognized with the Women's Performance of the Meet after setting a new personal best and meet record in the pole vault with 4.08 meters.
- Jazmin Mendoza earned a bronze medal in the women's weight throw, setting a new personal best with a throw of 15.72 meters.
- Dan Close secured a silver medal in the men's weight throw, posting a personal best with a throw of 17.96 meters.
- David Brown claimed silver in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.12.
- Bautista Diamante earned silver in the men's 60 meters with a time of 6.82 and also finished second in the men's 200 meters with a time of 21.40, setting both a new personal best and a new CWU record.
- Elise Hopper earned a bronze medal in the women's 400 meters with a time of 56.41, setting a season best.
- Wes Kriete won silver in the men's shot put with a throw of 15.17 meters, while Kamila Salanoa took bronze in the women's shot put with a throw of 12.85 meters.
- Central Washington men's team finished in second place with 117 points, closely behind Western Washington
- Central Washington women's team finished in second place with 114 points, after climbing three spots after day one. Harris, McDevitt, Huber and Hopper secured a bronze medal in the women's 4x400 meters with a time of 3:51.56

Hollis, Correa, Ntekpere & McGough are in position to qualify for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 12
th through March 15
th at the Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. We will know more about the qualifying group for the national championships in the next two weeks.
