ELLENSBURG, Wash. – After nearly a month away from competition, the Central Washington University track & field team will begin the bulk of their indoor schedule with the Spokane Indoor Challenge this Friday and Saturday at the Podium. There will also be participants competing in the UW Preview that will take place at the Dempsey Indoor Facility in Seattle.

ABOUT THE MEET
This meet marks the second track & field meet of the season. A small portion of athletes will be competing at the UW Preview this weekend with 12 participants. Some key members to look out for are
Max Hutton,
Johan Correa,
Payton Conover and
Hannah Pidduck. Hutton and Correa will look to build off impressive seasons and make their stamp amongst national universities.
Julie Johnson,
Sylvie Gephart, Jess Henry and
Araceli Esquivel will be names to watch as they look to build off of their recent performances.
ABOUT THE MEET
CWU will be sending 36 athletes to Spokane this weekend to compete at the Podium. The 5000-meter dash, High Jump and Weight Throw events will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The action continues on Saturday, beginning with the 60-meter hurdles, Weight Throw, Pole Vault, and Long Jump events. Some notable competitors are
Emy Ntekpere,
E'lexis Hollis,
Joy Ayodeji and
Ashlyn Nielsen. Ntekpere is currently ranked #1 in DII women's 60-meter hurdles and will be competing alongside teammates,
Candace Nhye,
Carley Huber and
Leighton Menge. Hollis, Nielsen,
Zoe Gonzales and
Elise Hopper will be competing in the 60-meter dash.
Josh Boast and
David Brown will look to make a statement in the men's 60-meter hurdles.
Bautista Diamante will represent the Wildcats in the men's 200-meter race.
Wyatt Franklin, Dan Close and
Wes Kriete will be competing in the men's weight throw event and look to build off an impressive previous season.
Cal'von Baker will be another notable name to watch as he is competing in the men's high jump event.
