SEATTLE, Wash.- The Central Washington University track and field team is set to compete at the UW Invitational and Mile City meet, hosted by the University of Washington, from Friday, Jan. 30 through Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Dempsey Indoor Center. The Wildcats are coming off a strong performance at the UW Preview two weeks ago, where several athletes' broke records and posted top-10 marks in the conference.

ABOUT THE MEET
Friday's meet marks the Wildcats' fourth track and field competition of the season and begins with the women's high jump at 10:00 a.m., followed by the men's weight throw. Day one concludes with the men's 4x400-meter relay at 6:35 p.m.
Saturday's action opens with the women's seeded mile at 9:00 a.m., followed by the women's pole vault invite at 11:00 a.m. The meet wraps up with the men's open mile at 4:00 p.m.
In the track events, notable competitors include
Layla Fields and
Keira Fleenor in the women's 60-meter dash. Fields and Fleenor will also compete in the 200-meter dash alongside
Ayla Johnson.
Donna Marie Harris and
Elise Hopper are slated to run the 400-meter dash, while
Helayna Bonilla will compete in the 800-meter run along with
Araceli Esquivel,
Sylvie Gephart,
Dawn Hulstedt,
Meggie Kilcup, and
Hannah Pidduck.
Elia Baker,
Ellie DeGroot,
Ayla Johnson, and
Emy Ntekpere are set to compete in the women's 60-meter hurdles, with Ntekpere also taking part in the long jump. In the women's throwing events,
Maliyah Gordon,
Felicity Taula, and
Fidelity Taula will compete in the shot put, while Gordon will also participate in the weight throw.
On the men's side,
Carsen Volle is one to watch in the 200-meter dash, while
Josh Boast will compete in the 400-meter dash and
Max Hutton in the 800-meter run. Volle will also join
David Brown and
Ian Calhoon in representing Central in the 60-meter hurdles.
In the field events,
Cal'von Baker and
Matthew Bender will compete in both the high jump and triple jump.
Brady Holland and
Wes Kriete are set to represent CWU in the shot put.

The Wildcats will travel to Spokane, Washington, to compete in the Riverfront Invitational from Thursday, Feb. 5 through Saturday, Feb. 7 at The Podium. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the 'Cats as this will be their final meet before the GNAC Indoor Championships.
