Warmenhoven was one of the top kickers in Central Washington University history. He earned District 1 First Team (1984), Evergreen Conference all-star (1984), and Outstanding CWU freshman (1983) honors during his career. He connected on a school-record tying three field goals in a game three times (Oregon Tech, 1983; Whitworth, 1984; Southern Oregon, 1984). In 1984, he set a school record by converting 11 field goals, and held a streak of 39 consecutive successfull PAT attempts. During his four-year career, Warmenhoven made good on 111 of 116 PATs (96 percent), and 25 field goals.
