A member of CWU's Ad-Century football team, Atterberry caught 151 passes for 2,379 yards during his Wildcat career (1990-93). A four-year starter at flanker and H-back, at the time of his induction his reception total was still the seventh highest and yardage total the fourth highest in school history. As both a possession and deep threat wide receiver, Atterberry was also sixth In career 100-yard receiving games (6) ninth in yards per receptions (15.75 ) and sixth in single season yards per reception (19.11), which he recorded during his senior year, when he was named to the Columbia Football Association (CFA) Mount Rainier League All Conference first team. Renowned for having great hands and running precise routes/he was also a two-time CFA Mount Rainier League second team selection ;(1991.'and: 1992). Along with being a primary receiving target, the hard-working Atterberry was also an accomplished kick returner His punt-return yardage (252) ranked 12th and all-purpose yardage (2,655) ranked ninth in school history on the night of his induction.
