A five time national place winner, he was the greatest long jumper in school history during the 20th century. Set school record in 1970 with best of 25-1 ¾, more than a foot longer than second best mark. Laced sixth in the long jump in both the 1969 and 1970 NAIA national meets. Also placed fifth in the 440 and mile relay in 1970 and fourth in the 4x100 relay in the 1972 national meet.
