Dr. Ken Briggs retired on June 30th, 2015 after 38 years of service at Central Washington University as a popular professor of health education and department chair of physical education, school and public health. His involvement in CWU athletics has spanned nearly five decades. As a member of the CWU faculty. Dr. Briggs developed and taught the long-standing drugs and sports class required of all CWU athletes, which was intended as a NCAA requirement for substance abuse prevention. He also helped develop and promote the athletic administration graduate program that has graduate program that has graduated a number of CWU head coaches, assistant coaches and administrators from the athletic department.
