Pat made his presence felt in the Central football program immediately by claiming CWU's freeman award in 1967. He was selected all-conference first team guard in 1969 and 1970. Pereira currently served as vice principal at Waimea High School in Hawaii after a successful coaching career there that included five Kauai Interscholastic Federation football championships (1984, '85 and 1990 through '92) and K3F titles each of his 14 years as head track coach. "He was always a gentleman and the students always came first but never at the expense of team discipline," former assistant coach David Walker said. "Pat is the most recognized and respected staff member at Waimea High School, indeed he is called “Mr. Waimea.'"
