Earned four letters each in basketball and baseball. Four-year starter in basketball, scoring 1160 points and averaging 12.3 points per game. Ranked ninth in career scoring and fifth in career free throw percentage (78.4) at time of induction. Honorable mention All-American in 1965. Inspirational award winner in 1963 & 1964. Team captain in 1965. Career pitching record of 9-12 with 16 complete games in 22 starts. Was 4-4 with 1.88 ERA in 1964.
