Boudreaux was a four-year letter winner in cross country and track and field from 1973-1977. In 1975, Boudreaux qualified for the National Association for Intercollegiate Athletics Cross Country National Championships and placed 30th individually. In 1976, Boudreaux placed 22nd in the nation at the NAIA Cross Country Championships. He still holds the steeplechase record (8:55.91) that he set in 1977 and placed 5th in the NAIA Track and Field Championships that year. Boudreaux was awarded the CWU Track and Field Most Inspirational Award in 1977. He graduated with a B.S. in Physical Education.
