At time of induction was only three-time track national place winner in same event in CWU history. Placed third (13-6) in pole vault in 1962 and second in both 1963 (14-7 1/2) and 1964 (14-6). Career best of 14-7 1/2. Also earned four letters in football. Rushed for 270 yards and caught 24 passes for 422 yards. Returned six kickoffs for 104 yards. The versatile athlete also intercepted seven passes.
