Dunbar, a Tacoma native and a 1972 graduate of the University of Washington, coached the Wildcat football team for six seasons (1983, 1987-91), posting a 54-9-1 record. He helped CWU win 41 consecutive regular-season football games from 1988-91, and guided the Wildcats to the NAIA postseason-each of his final five seasons in Ellensburg. A six-time conference coach of the year award winner, Dunbar left CWU for coaching opportunities at the Division I level, having served as a head or assistant coach at seven different D-I institutions including his current post as the offensive
