Won 22 All-American certificates in four year career between 1980 and 1984. NAIA National champion in 50 yard freestyle in 1980 and 1983. Finished second in the 50 yard freestyle in 1982 and 1984, in the 10 yard freestyle in 1980, 1982 and 1984 and in the 100 yard butterfly in 1984. Also swam on 10 All-American relay teams, including a pair of first place squads (400 yard freestyle, 400 yard medley) in 1984 when Wildcats won NAIA national team title. At time of induction, still held school record in 50 yard freestyle in time of 20.80
