Smith enters the Hall of Fame as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and Central Washington University all-time leader in average yards per punt at 43.2. In 2003, Smith averaged a CWU single-season record of 44.2 yards per punt, earning first-team All-America honors. Smith appeared in 38 total games over four seasons, totaling 6,227 punting yards with a long of 68. Smith has one rushing attempt to his record, taking a fake punt 29 yards to set up a CWU touchdown in 2001. He also kicked two field goals with a long of 43, Smith pulled double duty as the Wildcats' kickoff specialist, setting the tee 205 times in his career, racking up 12 tackles. Smith passed away on Feb. 18, 2013.
